What is this website?
We are a +18 age play-by-post wizard school roleplay forum set at a prestigious magical university in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our community welcomes collaborative storytelling, original characters, world building and text roleplay. Whether you like rapid fire roleplay, magical adventures, mysteries, romance or champion character development, there is a place for your story here.

Is this website affiliated with any books, films, television series or media?
No. We are an independent, fan-created roleplay community. While our world building and characters may draw inspiration from established works of fiction and magical school genres, we are not affiliated, endorsed or connected to any currently published books, films, tv series or media. All characters, lore and world building are by this community, for this community.

Why is the site 18+?
Our community is exclusively for adults aged 18 and over and while your roleplay does not have to contain mature themes, being an adult only community allows members to explore complex stories, relationships and character development in an appropriate environment with an appropriate audience.

How do I register?

Create a forum account then contact us on Discord to complete our verification process. Once your account has been verified, you will receive full access to the roleplay areas and rest of the community

Why do you verify members through Discord?
Verification through Discord means we do not need to collect your email address whilst still helping us maintain a welcoming and authentic community by confirming account ownership, reduce spam, and keeping our community as safe as we can through limiting access to roleplay content to accounts that we know.

How do I get started?
After verification, you're welcome to introduce yourself and your character(s), browse our lore, explore the magical university setting and either join open roleplays or create your own for others to join. We're a very friendly community and happy to have you.

Do I have to use my real name?
Your OOC name is optional but if you choose to provide one then it must not misrepresent your identity.

Do I need roleplay (RP) experience?
Not at all. We welcome both experienced RPers (roleplayers) and complete newbies. If you are new to RP then our staff and community are happy to help you get started.

Is there a minimum word count for posts?
We have no requirements about minimum or maximum length of RP posts, RPers may respond with as much or little detail as they choose. We only ask that replies remain relevant to the subject and tone of the current thread.

How many characters can I have?

We do not have a fixed limit on how many characters you can have, however we expect members to only have as many characters as they can keep active and give meaningful development to.

Can I choose any face claim I want?
You are welcome to choose a face claim to represent their character and we do not enforce exclusivity. If another character already has a face claim you had in mind, you are welcome to use that same person as well, and if you find another person has started using a face claim you already use, that person is not in breach of site rules. We also welcome the use of art instead of face claims, if you find it a better way to represent your character. We ask that face claims be chosen with resemblance to your character in mind. For example, an elderly man should not be used to represent an 18 year old character. The use of celebrities who have passed away is forbidden.

Can my character die?
Yes, but circumstances should be discussed with staff first. Unless already agreed as part of a specific plot ahead of the death, character deaths are permanent.

Is the community LGBTQ+ friendly?
Absolutely, we welcome members from all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions who enjoy RPing to our community.

Do I need to know about Aotearoa New Zealand and Māori culture?

No previous knowledge is required. Incorporating te reo Māori or other aspects of Aotearoa New Zealand culture is entirely optional. If you would like to include in your RPs and have questions about cultural representation, terminology or customs then please ask. Our staff are always happy to help.

I forgot my password, what should I do?
Because we do not collect email addresses, password resets cannot be completed automatically. Contact us on Discord on the same account you verified with and we can get you reset.
